MEET THE TEAM
Isabeau’s special interests includes fields such as Orthopaedics (favouring hand, shoulder and neck injuries), Sport Injuries, Kinesiotaping, Dry Needling, Paediatrics, Woman’s Health and Pilates exercises. In June 2016 she qualified as an international Certified Lymphoedema Therapist (ILTWI). This is currently her main interest and plans to further her studies in this field.
Isabeau was the SA Physiotherapy Association’s Private Practice Western Cape Representative from 2008 to 2011 and was voted the 2013-2014 SASP’s WC Chair. She was the Special Interest Groups rep on the SASP’s National Executive Committee in 2015 to 2017. She is currently serving as LAOSA’s treasurer.
Being a mother, wife and full time physiotherapist is a challenge, but she is loving every minute of it and is thankful for the opportunity to treat her patients. She stays in Monte Vista and has a soft spot for travelling.
Adele qualified at the University of the Orange Free State in 1992. Straight after graduation she worked in various private practices and in hospitals in PE, East London and Johannesburg. In this period she did extensive work in ICU, Orthopaedics and general wards. In 1998 she got married to Jacques Strauss and moved to Cape Town. In 2002 she co-founded the Neethling, Strauss and Arpesella Physiotherapy Partnership in Parklands, Table View.
Her continuing professional development includes Dry Needling, Kinesiotaping, Orthopedics, SIJ (Sacro-Iliac Joint) Dysfunctions, Sport Injuries, Pain Management and CPR. She has special interests in knee and shoulder rehabilitation as well as cervical headaches.
She is passionate about Physiotherapy and strives to treat her patients with the utmost professional care.
Adele stays in Melkbos and is a busy mother of two very sporty sons. Cycling and outdoor activities with her family is currently the joys of her life.
Nicky grew up in Milnerton, went to Milnerton High and qualified at Stellenbosch University in 1995. Straight after graduation she started working at Milnerton Medi-Clinic. She went to work in the UK in 1998 where she gained experience in geriatrics and amputations.
After returning to SA she returned to MMC and bought the practice in September 1999. In 2002 she co-founded the practice in Parklands with Isabeau Neethling and Adele Strauss.
Nicky’s continuing professional development includes Soft Tissue Mobilization, Whiplash Injuries, Dry Needling, Headaches, McConnell Strapping, Kinesiotaping, Knee and Shoulder Injuries, SIJ Dysfunction, Mulligan’s mobilization, Pain Management, Pediatric Respiratory, ICU and CPR workshops. She also coordinated our SASP PRACTICE MANAGEMENT ACCREDITATION in 2016.
Her special interest is in all things relating to backache and the spine and chronic pain. She does Pilates Based Rehab classes for compromised back patients. She also enjoys shoulder & knee rehab, TMJ problems and Paediatrics.
Nicky is extremely busy running between two practices and managing her family, but still finds time to enjoy life to the fullest.
Zahira graduated from UWC in 2005. She completed her Community Service year in Kimberley (2006), In 2007, she worked as a locum at various hospitals and started work at Neethling, Strauss and Arpesella Physiotherapists in 2008.
She is based in our Netcare Blaauwberg Hospital rooms, Her interests include Paediatric Respiratory conditions, Sports Injuries, Orthopedics and ICU. Her future goals include working with athletes, travelling abroad and broadening her scope of practice in the physiotherapy field.
Ashley studied at UCT and received his Physiotherapy degree in 2012. He completed his Community year at Edendale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg.
His special interests are Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Orthopaedic and Sport Injuries. He was part of the Physiotherapy team for the Provincial Golden Games in Newcastle and was selected as one of three Physiotherapists chosen to work at the National Golden Games in Gauteng in October 2013.
He finished his APD level 2 in Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation in 2016 (finishing top of his class) and is based at our Blaauwberg Netcare Hospital Practice.
Nicolette matriculated in 1990 and has studied 2 years office practice at West Coast College and has been with us since 2007.
She is currently based at our outpatient practice in Parklands, She manages the administration of the practice and is in charge of accounts and debt collecting.
Liezl graduated from teaching in 2004 and taught primary school education for 8 years thereafter. She started with us in 2013 after her second child was diagnosed with Cysctic Fibrosis and she could not longer teach.
She manages our offices at Blaauwberg Netcare.
Nakita van der Westhuizen
Nakita is our receptionist at our Parklands practice.
She matriculated in 2012 at Edgemead High. Her interests are Family and biking. She enjoys doing fund raising for cancer patients as well as charity work and is on the BCWC Cancer Run Committee in the biking community.
